Believing she had met the man of her dreams, Nina Valone gave herself to him with the hope of happily ever after. When she found out he was cheating on her, she tried to reason with him and leave, but it turned out to be a brutal fight and Nina left on the run with no ID or friends to reach out to. Finding herself in Treasure Town Nina is building a life for herself backing pies and hoping to begin her business.
An arsonist is creating havoc in Treasure Town and brothers Trent, Buddy and Johnny are cleaning up the mess. When Nina comes into their lives, they think they have finally found what they have been looking for, but Nina is fearful they will get to close and find out who she really is.
This one was okay, not my favorite in the series. I had a slight issue with Nina being 24 and so naive, she was a bit of a contradiction. Trent doesn’t trust Nina from the get go, believing she is hiding something but once he realizes what he sets out trying to prove he is trustworthy. I think overall a good concept but a bit rushed, will reread again in awhile and may change my mind on the story.
