STEALTH
Willow Fox
(Eagle Tactical #2)
Publication date: March 26th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Suspense

Sold to the mafia. I’m nothing more than a piece of property to my brother. Forced into an arranged marriage, I enlist the help of Eagle Tactical.

Ariella
I moved in with Jaxson after the attack. It’s hard to keep my hands off him, but he’s my boss. He’s given me a job at Eagle Tactical as his subordinate.

I don’t take orders well, especially from a grumpy boss. He’s about just as grumpy as his toddler when she skips her afternoon nap.

Jaxson
I vowed to protect Ariella. That’s how much she means to me, but she’s gotten under my skin with her know everything attitude and sassy hip sway that has my body in overdrive.

I swore I’d never do a one-night stand. Is that what she thinks we shared? Is that why she hates me?

I don’t know how much longer I can wake up under the same roof, go to work with her, and not throw her down on the bed.

We have a mission that takes priority, but how can I keep my mind on the job when she’s always in the room, and I want to bend her over the desk?

STEALTH is book two in the Eagle Tactical series and ends with a HFN and a guaranteed series HEA.

EXCERPT:

Hazel

I didn’t dare gaze into the eyes of the man who bought me. Thanks to my stepbrother, Nikolai, I belonged to Franco, his second in command in the mafia.

“Next week you’ll be my bride,” Franco said, his teeth yellowing and crooked. He grabbed my jaw and yanked my face closer to his for a kiss. His breath smelled of vomit. My stomach recoiled.

We stood outside his black sedan, the door open. I was to go with him. I’d sooner starve myself to death. That was still a possibility after I went with the man who I was engaged to marry.

Bile rose to my throat, and I swallowed the burning acid as it slid back down. I kept my mouth sealed shut, but it didn’t stop him from planting his thick dry lips against mine. His tongue pushed at my mouth rough and forceful, but I refused to grant him access. The scum-sucking vermin could kiss the soles of my feet.

I wanted to kill my stepbrother but not before I took out Franco.

Franco’s thick hand palmed my hair, his fingers tangled in my locks before he yanked hard, bringing my face to his. “Other girls should be as lucky as you.”

My stepbrother was nowhere to be found. Typical. Sell me and move on, like I meant nothing to him. I was a piece of property. That was it.

Franco shoved me toward the back door of his sedan.

Oh hell, no. I had the upper hand now, with only Franco and his driver. If I made it to his house, who knew the danger that awaited, how many men I’d be forced to fight or what other security measures would exist.

“Get off me!” I slammed my elbow into his stomach and stomped on his toes before kneeing him in the crotch.

His driver lifted his gun, pointing it at my head.

“Please, you’d be doing me a favor,” I said. I’d sooner die than marry him.

“Don’t shoot her!” Franco pushed the gun away from the driver, lowering the barrel.

I pulled back my fist, landing another blow, this one to Franco’s face before his hand yanked my hair and slammed my head into the side of the car.

The world spun and nausea swept over me.

He shoved my body into the back of the vehicle, slammed the door shut, and stomped around to the front passenger side.

“Don’t puke on the interior, Bitch.”

The car engine started.

My vision blurred, but I felt for the door handle and gave it a hard pull. Damn child safety locks. It didn’t open.

Roar. I flew back against the seat as the driver slammed on the gas. The tires squealed, and my nose tickled with the scent of burning rubber. The skyline grew smaller in the distance as we tore out of the city. Where the hell were we going? Where did Franco live?

“Where are you taking me?” I rubbed my eyes, confused and tired. The blurred vision was getting better, but I still felt like I’d been run over by a car.

“Home sweet home, Darling. We’re going to Russia.”

Russia wasn’t my home. I’d never been out of the country. My fingers stroked the white gold locket against my neck, the only token of my mother that I had left, a gift from my deceased father.

I wasn’t going to Russia or any other country with Franco.

I shoved my hand into my pocket and retrieved my cell phone. I turned it on silent and sent out a text requesting help. I didn’t know how long I had until the flight or until they searched me. I’d been foolish not to bring a knife or at the very least mace with me, some kind of weapon to defend myself.

I had memorized Mason’s number, having stalked him online. It had been years since we’d seen each other. We’d gone to boarding school together. He had joined the army after high school, and I had been sent to live with my father.

It was no secret he worked for the security firm Eagle Tactical. I couldn’t call them. It would be too risky. I hoped that their business line could receive texts. I didn’t have Mason’s personal number; it appeared to be unlisted.

Mason, I need your help. Please track my phone and come for me. I wouldn’t ask if this wasn’t life or death – my death. Hazel

It was short and to the point. It’s all I could do. I hoped it would go through and he’d come for me.

Wet & Reckless
Samanthe Beck
(Private Pleasures #4)
Published by: Entangled: Brazen
Publication date: May 10th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

She’s a walking, talking disturbance of his peace…

When former Navy SEAL West Donovan trades covert ops for small-town cop, he craves calm and order. Rescuing a sexy, law-bending hitchhiker during a rainstorm raises his gut-level trouble detector—plus a few things south of his gut—into the red zone. He vows to help this particular tumbleweed find her way and keep it professional, but when she becomes his downstairs neighbor, professionalism is sorely tested. He’s got red lingerie infiltrating his laundry, sultry songs invading his bedroom, and suddenly he’s the one in need of rescue.

Aspiring singer/songwriter Roxy Goodhart ventures to Bluelick, Kentucky to outrun her latest mistake. It’s a doozy, involving a lying ex-manager, a dire lack of cash, and a teensy bit of grand larceny. Landing in the long, strong, entirely too tempting arms of the law is no way to keep a low profile while she re-builds her “L.A. or bust” fund. Taking an apartment that—oops—puts her under West…er…in his path every day doesn’t help. Testing his impressive reserve is beyond reckless, but she’d love to test it…all…night…long.

EXCERPT:

As the doors slid shut, the space seemed tiny. Elijah dominated the space. Holly felt her pulse picking up speed as he tapped his badge on the pad next to the bank of numbers. The top floor button lit up with the scan of his card and the elevator began the slow ascent to Elijah’s kingdom.

Holly looked down at her shoes and did her best not to blush. A moment later, she cleared her throat and raised her head, but he was staring at her intently, so she quickly dropped her gaze again. Dang it, why did she have to be so attracted to him?

“So, you still feel it too,” Elijah murmured as he tapped his card on the elevator wall again. The car came to a stop and Holly jerked her head up. What was he doing?

“What did you do that for?” It came out a whisper.

“We clearly need a minute,” Elijah said, closing the space between them.

Holly stuttered and gave up trying to speak as Elijah brushed one long index finger across her lips.

Author Bio:

Ivy Nelson is an emerging contemporary romance author, hopeful romantic, and passionate advocate who is versed in all things steamy, sultry, and sensual. It all started back when she read her first steamy romance novel at the age of fourteen. From that point forward, it became her favorite genre–one she wanted to write in herself someday. Sylvia Day’s writing style cemented that passion, and gave her just the inspiration she needed to be an author herself. In December of 2018, Ivy published her debut novel, Power Desired at the age of 32.

Most recently, Ivy completed the “D.C. Power Games” series and the prequel to her forthcoming “Diamond Doms series” titled “Hard” (currently available for pre-order). In a not-so-distant past, she was a student affairs professional at a university and earned her political science degree, which explains her politically-driven romance debut.

When she isn’t penning steamy scenes or attending writing conferences, you can find this contest-winning karaoke singer and bookworm passionately supporting human rights or growing her Sims 4 empire. She is also a wine aficionado and certified whiskey taster (no really, she has the certificate to prove it). All that aside, Ivy loves spending quality time with her amazing son and husband of three years at their home in Houston, TX.

Review: Landon by Lisa Helen Gray

Landon (A Next Generation Carter Brother #3)Landon by Lisa Helen Gray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Landon Carter was the most intense out of the Carter kids, he had a tragedy he has never been able to get over. The only person who seems to crack that shell is Paisley Hayes, but Landon doesn’t want his shell cracked. They have one moment together before Landon lashes out and pushes Paisley away. Weeks later Paisley seeks Landon out saving his life instead. Landon has a long road to recovery but he can’t get Paisley out of his mind. Landon needs to come to terms with his past before he can build a future with Paisley, if she is willing to forgive him. The only problem though is Paisley has 8 brothers who are rivals of the Carters and overly protective of Paisley. Can he find a way to win Paisley’s heart even though others would like to keep them apart?

I was intrigued to find about Landon. You had hints of his character in the other books and he was even better than I expected. I loved Paisley, she is strong but has brothers who are overly protective. I loved how this whole story unfolded. Wonderful read, one of the best in the series thus far.

EXCERPT:

Cassie was spectacular as she approached his table. Gone was the frumpy mouse who had begged to pay back her sister’s debt. In her place was a woman in full possession of her beauty, sophisticated and elegant, head held high and shoulders back.

Her dress was still more conservative than most women would wear, falling to her ankles, but the filmy chiffon moved around her like fluid, undulating and sinuous, and the sleeves kept fluttering open to permit tantalizing glimpses of her pale, slim arms. He wasn’t the only man whose eyes followed her through the restaurant. But judging by the heated look of appreciation in her eyes when she spotted him, he was the only man she would be spending any time with.

He’d make sure of it.

Once she was seated, the host disappeared, and Cassie put her menu down. “I don’t speak French,” she whispered, her expression conspiratorial.

Dante smiled and leaned across the table. “Neither do I, but I know what’s good here. Do you trust me?” He watched, waiting for her to comprehend that he meant more than just his trusting him about the food.

She sucked in a quick, surprised breath, eyes wide for a moment. But then she let it out again, determination replacing the surprise.

“Yes,” she said, swallowing. She understood. She agreed. Satisfaction curled, thick and hot, in his belly alongside his hunger– for food, for her– and Dante picked up his menu.

“Do you like duck?” he asked.

“I don’t know, I’ve never had it,” Cassie admitted.

“Well, how adventurous are you?” Dante teased, and she looked up at him through her lashes. If she were a practiced flirt, he would’ve described it as coy, but Cassie wasn’t a practiced flirt. That was why she was so compelling to him. There was no artifice to her interest in him.

“With the right person… or the right incentive?” she asked, and he could feel his smile growing, a genuine smile rare for him.

“Either. Both.”

“Very adventurous, then.” She licked her bottom lip, and he wondered if she’d done it on purpose, trying to tempt him beyond bearing.

“Welcome to Toulouse,” the server said, popping the little bubble encapsulating them. Dante bit back a laugh when Cassie jumped at the man’s sudden appearance. “I’m David and I will be your server for the evening. Would you like to hear the specials?”

“No, thank you. We’ll both start with the lobster bisque and then have the duck. And bring us a bottle of your best chardonnay,” Dante answered, handing the man both their menus.

“Wonderful, sir,” the server said and departed.

Dante leaned back in his plush chair and observed Cassie. She was glancing around the restaurant, a look of appreciation on her pretty face, and he couldn’t blame her. Toulouse was as beautiful as its view of downtown Dallas. She studied the other patrons, one by one, and then gasped.

“Dante,” she whispered and leaned across the table, granting him an enticing view of cleavage. He could tell she wasn’t wearing a bra and her movement caused her breasts to shift in the most delightful way.

“Yes?” He shifted focus from her chest to her face, no less compelling to his libido.

“Is that the mayor?” She gestured with a flick of her eyes behind him.

Dante turned slightly to see the Mayor of Dallas and his wife enjoying a meal with another couple. “Yes.” He smiled at her wide eyes, pleased to be able to give her this experience. He’d expected to be amused by her excitement, to meet minor celebrities, but he found it charmed him instead. “And behind you is one of the star running backs for the Dallas Cowboys.”

Cassie swung her head around so fast he actually worried she might get whiplash.

Author Bio:

I write steamy romances and the compelling, hot, sexy, heroes that dominate those pages and the heroines that fall in love with them.

My day-to-day is full of time at the beach, playing fetch with my dogs in my backyard, and often thinking up new ideas and worlds that help bring my books to life. I’m a small town Texas girl who likes to dream big and put those big dreams down on the page!

Book Blitz: Stryker by Marteeka Karland

Stryker
Marteeka Karland
(Salvation’s Bane MC, #6)
Publication date: March 19th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Glitter: Yes, that’s my real name. Born stripper name, I know. I’ve been on my own since I was 14. When I tried to get a job with Salvations Bane MC at their strip club, Salvation’s Angels, their security saw right through my fake ID. Lucky for me, the club sent me to Beach Fit, their fitness club, until I turned 18. Now I work at Angels, and the crowd here loves me. Stryker’s still looking out for me. For some reason he thinks I’m a magnet for trouble. Now that I’ve got his full attention, I know what I want, and I’m going to prove him right.

Stryker: We try our best to keep things at the club legit. Last thing we need is an underage dancer attracting too much attention. OK, so she’s legal now, has been for nearly two years, but that girl’s everything this old man doesn’t need — and can’t afford. But there’s another club encroaching on our territory, setting up a BDSM club on the other side of town, as a front to run drugs. Now I’ve got word there’s even more going on at The Dark than drugs. I was right. And who do I find right in the middle of it but Glitter. Only, she’s not involved with the thugs at The Dark. She’s their prisoner — a sub who has no idea what it means to be a sub, but she thinks she wants to learn.

Challenge issued? Challenge ’effin accepted.

WARNING: This book contains scenes of an intense physical relationship between an older man and a younger woman, as well as extreme, graphic violence. These men aren’t angels and neither are the women. They love as hard as they fight. As always, you can expect a HEA with No Cheating.

EXCERPT:

Glitter was strung up by her wrists, a ball gag in her mouth. She was thrashing about, trying to scream above the music that was still blaring despite the disruption of activity throughout the club. The little pixie was a thorn in his side and his dick. Even before the sexual encounter earlier, he’d always admired Glitter. She was a sexy, sensual creature on stage. A feisty little punk off it. Now, she looked both pissed and afraid. He found he much preferred the former to the latter.

“What the fuck?” Tobias saw her, too.

“I know.” Stryker stalked toward her and the soon-to-be-dead Dom who appeared to have claimed her, if the bright red collar around her neck was any indication. The Dom in question stepped between Stryker and Glitter as he and Tobias approached.

“She’s mine,” the man said. A hulking brute, he looked like he could readily break the much smaller woman in half.

“What is it with every motherfucking guy in this place?” Tobias muttered. “Bulk with no muscle. Bitch, I will beat you down with one hand.”

This guy was bolder than the others. He stuck out his chest, bringing his whip to the ready. Stryker could tell he knew how to wield a whip just by the way he held it. Which told him Glitter was in way over her head. Having watched her for several months in the club she preferred, he knew she was in no way ready for something that hard core. He ignored the hulking beast in front of him.

“You good, Glitter?”

Immediately, she glanced at her tormentor. Just that little bit of hesitation when she knew Stryker would get her out of there without question. Thankfully, she shook her head several times, “no.” Stryker immediately went to her, pulling the ball gag from her mouth.

“Get me down,” she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. The big man with her growled, but stepped back, allowing Stryker free access to Glitter. Good thing, because Stryker was ready and more than willing to kill. Glitter wasn’t his woman, but she worked for him at his fucking club. Well, the club his MC owned. He was in charge of the security. Which made Glitter his to protect.

Author Bio:

Romance author by night, emergency room tech/clerk by day, Marteeka Karland works really hard to drive everyone in her life completely and totally nuts. She has been creating stories from her warped imagination since she was in the third grade. Her love of writing blossomed throughout her teenage years until it developed into the totally unorthodox and irreverent style her English teachers tried so hard to rid her of. Now, she breathes life into faeries, space hunters, werewolves, vampires, shapeshifters, and a few just plane ole ordinary people. She loves to see the awkward, self-conscious band geek get the captain of the football team and make him beg for it.

Miss Trust (Miss, #4)Miss Trust by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After Chance Maxwell makes a mistake where his brother is concerned, he knows he has to fix it and the way to do it is by getting Tory Larson a job. Tory is the sister to his brothers girl, she is a single mom with a child who is sick. Chance doesn’t expect Tory to fight him on the job offer, but she doesn’t want or need hand outs. It take some convincing before Tory agrees to help him but the job at times seems to good to be true. What happens when Chance and Tory act on the chemistry that continues to build between them though? A line is crossed but can Chance realize that Tory is just what he needs in his life or will he let the way he was raised stand in the way?

This was great, I had been looking forward to this one. The chemistry between Chance and Tory I think was the most sizzling out of the four books. I loved that Tory’s daughter was a huge part of the story and felt the way she handled her emotions over her daughter was amazing. Wonderful story.
