Axel claimed Mia as his old lady but he knows he still has to earn her trust. After being falsely imprisoned for a crime she did not commit, Mia is finding her footing and although the charges have dropped she is reluctant to trust. Axel though is proving he is the man he is promising to be, can Mia find her happily ever after and what happens when an old danger comes lurking?

I almost gave this a 3 star because Mia’s back story is not really revealed. I did not realize there was a book #0 before it so now I am reading that and the pieces have all fallen together. I thing overall good series, has a couple of things that are head scratchers but the overall concept of the story is good.

I didn’t have a fucking clue what I was supposed to be doing, so I turned to face the counter and looked at the glass tubes set up. I lifted one and “accidentally” dropped it.

“Oops! I’m so clumsy today,” I said, bending down to pick it up. The camera man zoomed in on my boobs, which nearly spilled from my shirt.

“Doctor, your patient is ready,” a voice called out from off-set.

I turned to face the fake door, and my breath stalled when the most beautiful man I’d ever seen entered – propelled by tentacles! Oh, shit! When Carl said they’d spared no expense, he wasn’t kidding. This guy looked like he’d just come straight from the sea.

He approached, not even slowing, until he’d pinned me against the counter. “I’m finished being your experiment.”

I swallowed hard, my heart racing as he pressed his hard body against me. “What are you going to do about it?”

He grinned, exposing a mouthful of sharp, needle-like teeth. I nearly shuddered, but repressed my reaction. Barely.

“You’ve poked and prodded me for months. I think it’s my turn.”

A tentacle slithered up my thigh. Oh, crap!

Torch never planned on finding his one so soon but when he makes a pit stop at the Archangel’s Warriors bar he sees Brooklyn. Brooklyn is unlike any woman he has ever met, he plans to make her his own but Brooklyn is not interested in dating a biker. However, Torch does not have plans to relent, he plans to bide his time with Brooklyn and show her he is worth taking a chance on.

Brooklyn though has her reasons why she does not want to get involved with Torch, but he wears her down. Her only immediate worry is her over protective father, can he come to terms with the fact his daughter deserves a chance at love?

This was terrific. Definitely gives the author an opportunity to start a new series and I hope it comes to fruition. I liked Brooklyn, she is sassy and independent. Torch wants to be all alpha with Brooklyn but he learns quickly she wont put up with that. Great addition to this series.

Helen is at a crucial part in her pregnancy where her body needs to rest in order to carry the pregnancy to full term. At one of her prenatal classes she meets Rachel, a brash pregnant woman who does not seem to have any barriers for the child she is carrying. There is more to Rachel though and even though she wants to distance herself from Rachel she is lonely because her overly busy husband and friends who seem to have too much on their plate to spend time with her. What she doesn’t know though is there is more to Rachel then she is aware of and each day she grows increasingly suspicious i f there is more to what is going on then she ever imagined. Who can she trust?

This was good, I found it difficult in some spots as you are not sure of the pregnancy portion of the story and it stressed me out. Definitely a tangled web of deceit in this story and you are not sure who to trust. Definitely would check out more from this author.

Review: Chess by Cee Bowerman

Chess Conner has been coming to terms that he may never find his one. His last relationship was filled with drama, he doesn’t expect to meet Katy Marks though. Something about Katy has Chess rethinking his plans of single life. That being said though after one fantastic night together Katy becomes a ghost and Chess wants to know why? Can they find their way back to one another or a misunderstanding will keep them apart?

This tied quite a bit into Liberty’s and Luke’s story. Definitely satisfied my questions for that couple. I really enjoyed Chess and Katy, the chemistry between the characters was fantastic. What a way to end the series, amazing.
