Review: Demon’s Hellion by Ciara St. James

Demon's Hellion (Hunters Creek Archangel's Warriors MC, #4)Demon’s Hellion by Ciara St. James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Demon knew the moment that he saw Zara that she would be his game changer, but the beautiful doctor doesn’t seem to want to give him a chance. Trying to prove to Zara that he is completely series is taking longer then he hoped, but he is intent on winning her heart. Demon has some changes to make though before Zara will take him seriously and when a misunderstanding puts Zara in danger life takes another turn.

Another wonderful read. I liked Zara but she is a bit of a hot head at times and I think Demon had the patience of a saint with her. He definitely was all in from the beginning but Zara’s past has her doubting him. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Review: Pyro’s Affliction by Erin Osborne

Pyro's Affliction (Blazing Outlaws MC Book 7)Pyro’s Affliction by Erin Osborne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

James ‘Pyro” Steele did not realize when he stopped to help single mother Onyx Martins that his life would be changed forever. Pyro has spent the last few years keeping others at a distance knowing that their safety might be in danger if allowed them to get close, he had his heart ripped out once because of it. Onyx though has Pyro wishing for more, can Pyro take another chance at love or is he determined to be alone?

There is a lot more to the story, particularly with Onyx and her background. I thought this was great.

Review: When You Least Expect It by Jessica Prince

When You Least Expect It (Hope Valley #11)When You Least Expect It by Jessica Prince
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stella Ryan may not want to do the things she does for her family, but her family is everything to her. Needing to help fix the problem her Dad ran into, she goes outside her comfort zone and ends up catching the eye of West Scott. Little does Stella know that West is a investigator for Alpha Omega and although she brushes him off, he is still very much interested in her. When he sees Stella a second time, the night goes in a completely different direction and West decides he is going to be the one to protect her. Feelings arise and Stella begins to have feelings for West, but believes he wont be able to accept her family, but West is out to prove to Stella she couldn’t be more wrong.

So let me start by saying that I generally avoid books with con artist-grifters. No particular reason why but I have not read one that I have liked the character. This book changed that for me, I really liked Stella and her family. I thought the way the author handled the family dynamic really brought insight to the characters. Another terrific read by this author and West is one of the most alpha males in the series thus far.

Review: Always Someone’s Monster by Lani Lynn Vale

Always Someone's Monster (Battle Crows MC, #1)Always Someone’s Monster by Lani Lynn Vale
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sophia has had a crush on Haggard ‘Thief’ Crow since she was a teenager. She is best friends with his daughter and he is best friends with her Dad. She knows nothing will ever come of it because Haggard is a man who would never cross the line. That being said a couple of close calls when they are together has Sophia realizing the feelings are mutual. Haggard though does his best to keep her at a distance though, until a moment has Haggard saying she is his, damn everyone else. With Sophia in danger though can Haggard keep her safe?

This had a lot to unfold as there is back stories on several of the characters. Had a shocking development that I had not expected. I enjoyed this one and look forward to seeing what happens with the rest of the Battle Crows, definitely intrigued.

Review: Lachlan by Erin Osborne

LachlanLachlan by Erin Osborne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The minute Peyton Blook ran into Lachlan Mackay’s arms, he became her protector. Finding out that his father had a direct hand in her abuse and kidnapping, rocks the Mackay family to the core. Lachlan never thought he would be a one woman man, but spending all his time with Peyton he realizes he wants her by his side. With an unexpected threat mounting, everything shifts where Peyton is concerned and Lachlan is doing everything he can to keep her protected.

This was terrific sequel to the first book. I liked that Lachlan had a plan for Peyton and was cognizant of the fact that she needed time to trust him and understand that their relationship was developing. Had a few surprises in this one I did not expect. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Historical Fiction

Date Published: July 10, 2021

Finn Hemingway knows for a fact that she’s been born at the wrong time into the wrong family with the wrong talents, making her three dreams for the future almost impossible to attain. She burns to be a trial lawyer in an era when Ruth Bader Ginsburg is being told to type and when a man who is 500th in his law school class is hired over a woman who is first in hers. She yearns to find true love when the family curse dictates that love always ends for the Hemingways, and usually, it ends badly. And finally, she’d give up the first two dreams if she were able to triumph on the third. She longs to have an impact on the only thing that matters to her father: his writing. To accomplish that would require a miracle. All three dreams are almost impossible, but it’s the “almost” that keeps Finn going. Ernest Hemingway had three sons but ached to have a daughter.

This is her story.
