There are times when I seek out specific books based on the theme and one of those is blind dates. Ever been on a blind date? They can be terrific, you can get stood up or they can be disaster or ending up with a date who is not your blind date. I have read quite a few fun blind date books over the years. Here are a few that stood out.

After her divorce sent her husband to prison, Shayla relocated with her son to start a new life. She gets asked to go on a blind date only to end up having a one night stand with Erik and walking away. Never did she expect to find him as an employee at her new job.

Erik wants answers and when he finds out she has a son he is even more intrigued to find out the secrets she is hiding. Erik is not sure he is boyfriend material but he plans to find out he wants Shayla and her son with every fiber of his being. However when it looks like she is in trouble he decides it is time for Shayla to truly realize he is not going anywhere.

Loved this one. Erik is a bit of a flirt and quickly realizes he has to prove himself to Shayla who pegs him from the get go. I thought Erik oozed charm and really liked Shayla, she is terrific and a fighter. Great addition to the Rogue Security and Investigation series.

When his close friend Brad, asks Kyle Manchester to take his girlfriend’s sister on a blind date, he doesn’t want to do it. He can easily garner from the conversation that she is not his type of woman and if Brad is asking for the favor, something has to be seriously wrong with her, after all she is described as nice and sweet. However, being the player he is he can fit her in before he finds another beauty to take home for the night. After all, Kyle doesn’t do commitment and her certainly knows his blind date will go nowhere.

What Kyle doesn’t expect is the mousy, overdressed, and incredibly blunt Lanie Carmichael. She is quick witted, a sports fan, and has completely thrown Kyle off his game. Like any good horror movie Kyle can’t seem to turn away from the preposterous proposition Lanie is making. Lanie will give him the story of a lifetime that will catapult his journalistic career to a Pulitzer prize, if he helps her with tidbits on Brad. Every ounce the lawyer, Lanie thinks she is in love with Brad and they would be a good fit. Even though Brad is dating her sister, she knows it is only a matter of time before he is dumped for a better model and then if the spark is there she will act on it, but she wants to be prepared. What happens next is a delightful story about an ugly duckling turning into a swan, but Kyle is the unlikely prince who doesn’t want to feel the way he does about his newest best friend and lover.

Michelle Buchanan date is a dud, meaning she got stood up. Dating is horrible, she has no clue why she even bothers but when Luka Templeton joins her at her table she is not sure what to do. She knows Luka is not her date but the charming man has decided he wants to be. Michelle is not sure the Boom will ever happen for her but Luka knows Michelle is his one and has to go about proving it.

Loved this, pure alpha male and romance in one. Liked Luka, he oozes control and is determined to get Michelle on board with what they will be. Humorous and sweeps you off your feet.
