Jolie Mae Miller is an independent author, living in Prince George, Virginia, with her loving husband and amazing children. Her busy home also includes a yorkie, a poodle, and a St. Bernard. Her favorite job is being a Mom and Meme (because she’s too young to be a “GRANDMA!”).
She grew up in Powhatan, Virginia, working in her family’s auto parts business for many years. After her sister received a life-saving transplant, she pursued and was hired by Richmond-based, non-profit, United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). She enjoyed thirteen years working in the Accounting department managing various functions. Today, she has the best job, Mom.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching baseball.  Whether it’s her husband who umpires, her son, or the Orioles.   Additionally, she’s an ancestry junkie, knowing quite well it’s a never ending project.  Jolie Mae is incredibly blessed to have a supportive family behind her while she pursues her love and passion of complex-themed writing. She credits her amazing parents for continuing to be positive, guiding forces in her life. Her love of reading definitely came from her Mom, and is constantly inspired by her Dad’s outgoing personality and knack for great storytelling.

Sassy CurvesSassy Curves by Jordan Silver

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Camille Gosling goes out for her Friday night fun with the girls, it is always a guarantee that her and the girls will be loud, proud, and full of mischief. This Friday is no exception when they begin discussing their long time crushes and what they would love to do with them. Little do any of them know that in the booth behind them is four men who are listening intently and may have their own interest in the girls.

Very fun read. Camille suffers from speaking your mind to a level that could easily be met with embarrassing moments afterwards. Braxton Maddox can’t believe his prim secretary is quite the opposite and he is thrilled, he wants her and plans to have her now he has to prove to her he is serious.

Emily Dubois is used to being a princess, the belle of the ball you would say. When she finds out her dad arranged a marriage to billionaire Jet Durant, she is livid. She is a modern woman, she can choose her husband for herself.

Jet knew the moment he saw Emily he wanted her, but she is being difficult about accepting their upcoming marriage. He tried to court her properly only to have it backfire, now he has to take more drastic steps.

I did not like Emily at all, even after she acknowledges her feelings for Jet. She is spoiled and pampered, I just couldn’t wrap my head around his attraction to her.

Author Bio:

I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.

My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, “Breaking the Nexus”, started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.

When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading (of course!), baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.

PREORDER JAKE UNDERSTOOD on other channels:
B&N: http://bit.ly/1FwJC0z
iTunes: http://apple.co/1DQQwgC
kobo: http://bit.ly/1LQ7Fvk

Here’s the blurb and cover for JAKE UNDERSTOOD

From the New York Times bestselling author of Jake Undone, comes a full-length standalone companion novel and sequel.

A different side to the story: Jake’s side.

“We’re getting a new roommate,” they said.

I thought nothing of it…until she walked in the door. Her hand trembled in mine as she looked at me with fearful eyes. My entire world spun on its axis.

Nina…

It was a mismatch made in heaven: innocent girl from the boonies moves in with tattooed, pierced, badboy engineer.

I came up with a bet, a plan to tutor her in math and coach her through her phobias. What I wasn’t betting on was becoming addicted to her.

But I was living a double life on weekends, and once she found out about it, she’d be gone.

I had to protect myself and that meant one thing: I couldn’t fall in love.

In Jake Understood, pivotal scenes from Jake Undone are retold from Jake’s point of view combined with all-new material from both the past and present time where Jake Undone left off. It can stand alone but if both books are read, should follow Jake Undone. Contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.

Bad for Me (Rock Canyon Romance, #5)Bad for Me by Codi Gary

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Callie Jacobsen survived and even though she has started over, she still is not living. Former Marine Everett Silverton has found himself attracted to radio DJ Callie and even though he has just met her through his daily calls into her show, he wants to take the next step.

When they meet both feel something for one another, but Callie has walls firmly in place and as Everett begins to break them down there is still one thing standing in their way. Callie has to decide if she can do what is needed to be with Everett.

Emotional rad. Callie is just getting by day by day, she believes she is living but it is a fragile shell. I liked Everett, I thought he was a so open with Callie and patient. Will definitely pick up more in the series.

Blurb:

Who knew a truck stop post card would send Alexis Davis’s life spiraling into a supernatural destiny predicted lifetimes before.

Gods, Magic, Fated Love; it was nothing that the shy, quiet Alexis ever could have imagined existed.

Alexis had no desire to take over the family business or follow in her mother’s footsteps, so armed with her life savings and a fresh tattoo she takes off to the quaint little fishing port of Reedsport, Oregon; where she meets two men that awaken something frightening within her very soul.

Dominant and dark Sebastian Gates and the sleek and sexy Jonathan Evans pull her into a life where the lines between her past, present and future become one.

When they both begin to take part in the dreams that she has drawn comfort from, Alexis learns that none of them are really what they seem. But they are not the only ones; she quickly finds others that play an intricate part in what has come to pass and what is coming. If that wasn’t enough the tattoo that she had placed across her chest has taken on a life of its own. Leaving her in pain beyond anything she has ever experienced before. Through her dreams and the men that cannot help but complicate her life further, Alexis learns that she has a target on her head that has carried over from one life to the next.

A dark coven of witches known as the Elektita believe she is the one that will restore their powers taken by the Gods long ago. A prophecy set in motion by her very own family line. There is one problem; her destiny has put a wrench in the Elektita’s plans, somehow intertwining within a curse that leaves everyone around her at the mercy of the moon.

Who can Alexis trust? The two men that have despised each other for centuries or the powerful Elektita that wants nothing more than to wield the power of the Gods?

Excerpt:
“Stop!” I screamed into the dark room. Instantly the whirr of the ceiling fan seized along with the humming of the mini fridge. My breath caught in my throat at the sudden silence of the world around me. Even the noises outside my window seemed to fade into nothingness. Fear slammed down on all the craziness inside my head; fear of it all.
“That’s it!” The air seemed to bow in resistance with my sudden outburst. It had stopped, too, heeding my command. I jerked the bottle off the table, slicing through the world’s resistance and headed for the door. The movements were forced, opposing the motionlessness that occupied the surrounding space. The hallway felt like a blessing; the air flowed as it should and I could hear the garbled sounds of televisions in other occupied rooms. Whatever was going on only affected my room. Linda wasn’t at the front desk and I was more than thrilled that I didn’t have to explain my growing insanity. I just needed to escape. I walked towards the water, the waves beckoning me out with them. The noises of the night seemed to be unaffected by whatever it was that had happened. I threw my head back in invitation, silently willing the dark serenity to consume me. As I reached the shore the water reflected a thousand night lights, giving life to the emotions that had resumed their battle inside of me. I perched myself on a large rock, letting its strength and solidity anchor me down.  The water’s salty tears splattered against my skin, giving life to the tears that flowed from me. I cried with her, sharing my tears, letting them ride the waves together. I drank and raged with the night. Wind whipped around me, cocooning me in its embrace; protecting me from my growing madness. I could almost hear the soft bay of the wolves along the waves which drove a burst of laughter through my tears. I sounded hollow and unlike myself. I chucked the bottle which only had a few swallows left into the cold expanse, listening to the glass shatter through the ocean song.
I felt completely lost, consumed in the night. I couldn’t find the thoughts that would give me an answer to what was happening to me. I watched as the ocean’s anger took its course all around me. Something about this night had her up in arms as well. At this moment I was in the company of a kindred soul. I sat still, letting her fight out her anger. I let the ocean have its turn to cry. Finally the waves began to glide and sway, ceasing its angry dance. The winds brushed against my cool skin, wiping away the remainder of my tears. We were both exhausted and spent; our emotional turmoil sated. Weariness left my body and mind heavy as I worked to make it back to the Inn before it gave out completely. The front desk remained empty and unwelcoming as I passed. I couldn’t fight the exhaustion–not even to strip away my grief soaked clothes, letting sleep take over.

Embrace the Dark (The Blood Rose, #1)Embrace the Dark by Caris Roane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mastyr vampire, Gerrod was drawn to human Abigail. It went against everything he believed in, but the more time he spends with her the stronger the pull. There is something unusual about Abigail once she arrives in the Merhaine Realm and once the truth is uncovered, Abigail will be left with a choice that will change her path in life forever.

Provocative, I was completely entranced by this hypnotic story. I loved that there is this whole kingdom of creatures and they are a bit unexpected from what you are used to. The blood rose is completely unique, looking forward to more in the series.

Eternal Service by Regina Morris

Genre: Paranormal Romance

eternal

eternalcoverLeader of the covert vampire team that protects the President, Raymond learns that their human director is retiring. The replacement is a human female who has no idea vampires exist. Due to a threat against the President, Raymond is forced to quickly indoctrinate her into vampire culture. He struggles with reborn romantic feeling even though he has sworn never again to pursue a human woman. The female operative, Alex, accepts the Director position. Passion emerges within her, but keep the dream career position she has fought for many years to attain, she must remain human with no romantic ties.

~Excerpt~

Raymond smiled at her. It was a beautiful smile, not fake or forced. You can always tell when it’s real. His black colored eyes held the smile, not just his luscious, full lips. Alex noticed his hair was a bit damp, probably due to a last minute shower on his way over. His hair was parted tonight, and a curl of bangs hung lopsided onto his forehead. It gave him a Superman appearance. She always did like Superman.

Alex knew her pulse sped up as she took in the visual strip tease in her mind. She thought back to their earlier conversation. Humans and vampires could have sex together. Sex. She swallowed hard. She hadn’t thought of having sex with a man in a long time. Her heart sped up even faster. She wondered if he could hear it. If he did, he didn’t show it. He just sat sipping his wine, looking sexy as hell.

Her glass was in her hands, and she took a gulp of wine, hoping to squelch the heat she was feeling. Instead, it fueled the flame. Would sex with a vampire be different than with a human? If it were, she was betting it would be better. The sexual relationships she had in the past, if she could remember that far back, were moderately satisfying. Definitely not romance novel, page turning, steamy … but satisfying.

Blinking a few times, she realized she was staring at his crotch. Could she be more obvious? She knew in her heart that she was going to take this promotion. She couldn’t start a romance with a team member, it wasn’t professional. She wasn’t that type of woman. Plus, there was no guarantee that he was interested in her that way. He had treated her with nothing but respect.

“Alex?” Raymond asked.

Alex looked up, making eye contact. “What?”

“Are you okay? You’ve been quiet for several minutes.”

~About the Author~

Regina Morris loves paranormal romances featuring vampires, but her personal taste is suspenseful and lighthearted – not horrific and gory. The White House, the President, and Washington D.C. are merely backdrops to support her romance series (the COLONY). They offer some suspense, but her books are romances and not political thrillers.

She has lived in many different parts of the world, and grew up on military bases. Her father was career military and CIA; his father worked with the Secret Service. She graduated high school in Germany and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a degree in Computer Science with a minor in math. Her specialty is social media and she loves connecting with people.

Besides writing, she has past work experience as a software engineer (current job), public speaker, sales representative (#1 National Sales Rep for an online company years ago), and she is an amateur portrait and sports photographer.

Filthy Marcellos: Lucian by Bethany-Kris

Filthy Marcellos: Lucian (Filthy Marcellos, #1)Filthy Marcellos: Lucian by Bethany-Kris

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lucian Marcello knows his duty to his family, as a Capo he has been raised that family duty is always first and every decision he makes it involves family. When he inadvertently walks in on a woman having a private moment, he is haunted by her until he meets her again and then it takes every part of his will power to walk away.

Jordyn Reese has been a part of the Hell on Wheels MC since she was a teenager, not by choice. More a captive, she has kept her head down and when her one protector dies, she is left easy pickings. The President of the MC plans to make her another piece of meat as far as women are concerned and Jordyn quickly realizes her time with safety is running out.

Without given too much away, Lucian makes a decision about Jordyn that changes everything. It is not instantaneous but he is extremely protective of her, like a fragile butterfly he handles her with such care it is beautiful. Once Jordyn is back on her feet, decisions need to be made and it is then that Lucian sees that she is a strong, if not willful woman. I think the other part of this story that was so intriguing was that Lucian is used to giving orders and not being questioned, where as Jordyn is not quite as willing to comply. He makes mistakes and she lets him know where she stands on it. Great book, cant wait for the next one.
