Healing Souls (Soldiers of Pearl #2)Healing Souls by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cora is a survivor, but she doesn’t see herself that way. She sees herself as weak and is struggling with trying to be a good role model for her two young children. When her sister makes a comment, not intending to hurt Cora, Cora decides to get a backbone and apply for a job as personal assistant for a security company.

Enter into the story bosses Beau, Cason, Blade, and twins Asher and Avery. Blade has been spurned before by a woman he loved and never wants to go down that road again. Beau is a troubled former soldier recovering, but he sees something in Cora reminds him of himself. Cason is instantly smitten and is patient with Cora, and Asher and Avery have a reputation with the ladies as love them and leave them but with Cora they find they want only to be with her.

Good story, I felt for Cora who is walking a fine line between her new life and ghosts of her old. Was an emotional read as you get to know all the characters, Blade was the most bitter because of his past but there is a longing there for Cora. Another good read from Dixie Lynn Dwyer.
