Alphas' Mate Alphas’ Mate by Leah Brooke

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lacey Roberts decides to visit her Godmother for her birthday, knowing that she has to hide out since helping a mother and child get away from an abusive husband. What Lacey does not expect is to find out the tales that her godmother told her about werewolves hold some truth and her grandsons Lars, Damien, Wes, and Seth are the myth come into reality.

Lars, Damien, Wes and Seth are stepbrothers but do not have a close relationship with one another, they are willing to put all their issues aside in order to be with their mate Lacey. Their only snafu in their path is convincing Lacey that she is theirs and her place is beside them.

I just love Leah Brooke’s books, they always turn into a page turner for me. This one had it all a spirited tempered Lacey who wont back down from the men who are convinced they know best when it comes to her along with several laugh out loud moments. Highly recommend.

**Reread a 4.5 this time. The one thing I would revise is you don’t really get to know Wes much and I would have liked to have seen him develop. Has a side story that I think could have developed into a book, hope it oes.

An Alpha's Path (Redwood Pack, #1)An Alpha’s Path by Carrie Ann Ryan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When Kade Jamenson agrees to a blind date with Melanie Cross, he doesn’t expect to come away with much except a pleasant evening and maybe a one night stand. He is stunned when he realizes she is his mate, but he wants to tread carefully for he thought another was his mate and doesn’t want to get burned again. As the night progresses, how does he convince the shy woman in front of him that she is his mate?

I give this a 3.75, I wish it had been longer. I was wanting more and felt like there was key elements missing from the story. Although it does come full circle you want a bit more to see the two characters struggle with Melanie’s knee jerk initial reaction.

Ryland (Golden Streak, #1)Ryland by Kathi S. Barton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When Ryland Golden goes through another secretary and yet again seems clueless as to why, his brother saddles him with a new one. Ryland had not expected to find his mate or that her temper flared quickly. When an attack happens and Bronwyn steps in saving his pack and family, any denial Ryland felt that about finding his mate goes out the window.

Now Ryland has to figure out what exactly Bronwyn is and how to keep her from running off. Bronwyn doesn’t trust anyone, her hard life has never given her reason too, however with Ryland she is wondering if her instinct is right that he is her mate.

Loved this new book, a bit dark but action packed. Ryland goes from being an arrogant ass to protector and tender mate to Brownwyn. Anxious to read more in this series.

Jeanne McDonald
Jeanne
McDonald began telling stories at the ripe young age of five, when her mother
considered the truth to be a lie due to her extensive embellishment to the
retelling of an event.  She wrote her
first short story when she was twelve years old, and at the age of sixteen she
tried her hand at poetry.  She
reconnected with her love for writing in 2010 thanks to the encouragement of a
dear friend.

Mary Elizabeth is an up and coming author who finds words
in chaos, writing stories about the skeletons hanging in your closets. Known as
The Realist, she is one half of The Elizabeths—a duo brave enough to never hide
the truth. Born and raised in Southern California, she’s a wife, mother of four
beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy
Chihuahua. She’s a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult
author by night. Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing
on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over
until it’s perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally,
but literature is in her chokehold. And she’s not letting go until every story
is told.

Wishes (Legacy, #2.5)Wishes by Molly Cochran

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Katy hears about fairies with her class, a few of them decide to see if there is any truth to finding them. Of course Katy had hoped it was true, but never expected to find one. When Katy is given wishes, the first one to come to mind is to have her rush equally as smitten.

Katy is finding out the hard way that a simple wish is not always as simple as one expects. As Katy begins to realize it is more of a course, she finds that she is more interested in helping her fairy then keeping her wishes.

Charming story. I did not realize this was a series but felt that I was able to understand the premise right away. If your looking for a good fantasy book to delve into, this one is one to pick up.

Hunger of the Wolf (Wolfen, #3)Hunger of the Wolf by Madelaine Montague

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Treated like a mouse in a glass box all of her life, Shilo ran at the first opportunity and has been in hiding ever since. Usually cautious of her surroundings, Shilo is lost in thought when she encounters a lycan ready to attack. With electro-kinetic talents it is easy to subdue him, but she had not planned on a second lycan before she passes out.

Prime alpha, Dante doesn’t know what to make of the woman he has taken. Not wanting to be zapped he is cautious of keeping her at a safe distance, but his wolf wants to mate. Dante needs to find out more about the mysterious lady, before he can determine if she truly is his mate.

I always like Madelaine Montague’s books, there is a different angle in each book and this one does not disappoint. The lycan’s are cajun is purely sinful, talk about a hot read. Another fantastic shifter read.

***reread, just as good as the first time. I had forgotten a lot of the plot so it still seemed like a fresh read. The big standout is Maurice who is a romantic at heart.

The Alpha Takes His Mate (The Alpha's Howl, #1)The Alpha Takes His Mate by Francis Ashe

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Jenna decides to take a stroll in the woods only to be kidnapped by wolves. The Alpha claims her as his mate and leaves Jenna to make a decision, go back to her fiancee or stay with the wolves that make her feel like she belongs.

Not quite sure what to say about this one, it was a mess. I just could not wrap my head around Jenna’s acceptance to mate and he shares her with his sons, just a little to weird for me.
