Tall Dark Handsome LycanTall Dark Handsome Lycan by Anastasia Maltezos

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Leonidis “Leo” Stefanos had not been planning on heading to his home in Greece, but when he fins out that his sisters friend Samantha Hope is coming he shows up. Determined to dislike the woman he believes ruined a planned marriage for his sister, he is curt in his manner and waiting to catch her in deception.

Samantha Hope has no idea why Leo hates her so, but is determined to enjoy the two week vacation her friend sent her on. When Leo begins to realize that he has been grossly misinformed he has to back-tread over the damage he has done, because Samantha is his one, his mate.

I was fully engrossed in this one but the end is so swift that I missed a bit of the chemistry and forgiveness on Sam’s part. This does lead into the next book, which I promptly picked up. 3.75

That’s until her best friend Dee suggests they start a band and suddenly she finds herself not just a part of it, but fronting the whole outfit. They call themselves The Devil’s Tattoo and when they release their debut EP, it rockets to the top of the charts and it’s like an overnight fairytale. Contracts, photo shoots, royalties and interviews are heaped onto the shy Zoe and it’s like she’s finally found her place. Then comes the phone call that changes everything. Review
5 Stars
Zoe Granger has been living  within her carefully crafted cracked shell trying mend the pieces that shattered her life two years ago.  Her best friend Dylan “Dee” feels it is time to give her a much needed nudge.  With a natural talent for music, Zoe ends up in a band with Dee and his friend, a band that is quickly gaining traction and has Zoe being noticed by Will Strickland, the bass player of The Stabs.Typically Will has no problem getting a woman, but he is bored of his reputation as a bad boy who takes every women who blinks to bed.  He notices Zoe long before she makes a name for herself and when her band The Devil’s Tattoo gets a following, he pushes for the band to tour with them.  Hoping he will get a chance to spend time with Zoe, but some of his tactics are not working and Zoe is even more fascinating than he thought.

Excellent story.  Zoe has baggage and it is not revealed right away which I loved, you go to know more about her character and not how she had evolved over the last two years.  Will is a swoon worthy hunk and he is out of his depth with Zoe, he fumbles, mucks it up and can’t seem to find an even balance to get close enough to express his interest.  Highly recommend.

Safe With Me (With Me in Seattle, #5)Safe With Me by Kristen Proby

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Retired SEAL Caleb Montgomery believes he is broken, which is why he has never pursued the interest he has in Brynna Vincent. Brynna radiates commitment with her two beautiful daughters, but when the reason she fled after seeing her ex-husbands murderer appears to have found her, Caleb is by her side.

Caleb is trying to resist the pull he feels with Brynna. Brynna wants Caleb but doesn’t understand the mixed signals she has been getting. When Caleb gives in though and they begin he ends up falling harder, but how can a man who does not think himself worthy keep the woman who deserves better.

Caleb made me so mad in this story, I wanted to throw my kindle. This was another good book in the series, Brynna is full of life and her children are adorable. This was a bit unlike the first three where the men were completely smitten and persistent in their courtship but, where as Caleb is the runner in this story. Not sure who is up next, but looking forward to the next book.

Jagged (Colorado Mountain, #5)Jagged by Kristen Ashley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Graham “Ham” Reece knew when he let Zara Cinders walk out of his life, he made the biggest mistake of his life. Burned enough times by women he had loved, Ham lives his life with a few simple rules, no settling down, no commitment.

Zara wished Ham had been the one, but over the years he never wavered over his life’s choices. She wanted babies, family, the whole she bang, and believes she found it with another man. It was time to let Ham go.

Three years later, her life is unraveling and she is beginning all over again. After seeing Ham on the news, she calls him and he comes back. Ham isn’t a fool and he plans to fully commit to Zara, but he has to first get her to realize he is back for good.

This was one of these books you pick up and find yourself wondering what happens next if you turn the page. I thought this was a more subdued Colorado Mountain stories, the characters are electrifying but this was more about second chances and correcting mistakes from the past. Zara is a fighter and Ham is like a big old teddy bear, quite the charmer but intense when he needs to be. Another fantastic story by Kristen Ashley.

Finding Sanctuary by Alicia White

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

No matter how hard Sophie Miller tries, her ex-husband manages to find her and her daughter. Finally resorting to see if she can seek the help of her cousin, she ends up in Sanctuary, Montana.

When Mason McLean sees Sophie and her daughter for the first time, he is off kilter with the immediate need to help the vulnerable woman. He can see the haunted look and he can’t get it out of his mind.

Alex McLean knows his brother has met someone who could be the one they have been looking for. He doesn’t know her story, but both Mason and Alex come up with a plan to earn her trust and create the family they know they can have with Sophie by her side.

Intriguing story, Sophie is a fighter but there is also a fearful side to her because of her ex. I liked that the author tackled the feelings of the daughter, she is just as much a victim and you feel like you got a full story with all four characters. Another great book from Alicia White.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lorna Marco has lived her life following the shadow of her mothers reputation as the town slut. However, not one time in all of her life did anyone try to either stop the rumors about her or find out if they were even true, they weren’t. Now she owns a shop that restores old cars and she loves what she does. She also is not batting an eye when it comes to new neighbor Jacob Benson, she is waiting for the shoe to drop when the town tries to get him to form the same opinions.

Former Navy SEAL Jacob is fascinated by his neighbor and plans to get to know her better. Convalescing after his last mission got him injured, Jacob is finally starting to see the bright side of things especially when he is with Lorna. When he finds out his best friend Cole Michaels is coming to visit, it looks like everything is falling into place. Never once in their friendship had they shared a woman, but Cole’s attraction to Lorna is not one sided and they venture into a new relationship with new understanding. When an old threat of Jacob’s returns seeking revenge though, the men will do anything to protect Lorna, however they never planned on the feisty woman to be able to take care of herself.

3.5 this had a bit of conflicting parts in the story that didn’t flow right. I was not sure why Lorna stayed in this town, they treated her like dirt and yet she took it to an extent. You get told why but it still conflicted with her character which was a strong woman. Interesting story.

Their Sweet Desire (Power Surge: The Billionaire Club #3)Their Sweet Desire by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Antoinette “Toni” Deluca as no interest in getting involved with another man, her last boyfriend seemed more intent on getting the property her bakery is on then her. Although he has not given up, Toni doesn’t want to feel that vulnerable again.

Emerson Pierce is needing a coffee and snack, when he happens upon a delightful bakery called Bliss. The stunning barista catches his eye immediately but he believes she is too young and probably would use him for his money like the other women in his life. When he shares this detail with Stone Ryder, his best friend, Stone is intrigued enough to help Emerson make a decision and seek her out again.

Emerson is hooked where Toni is concerned, now he has to figure a way to introduce her to Stone and hopefully find a partner they both can love. Toni is receptive but when all three confess to what they are hiding, it may destroy their new found relationship before it even has a chance.

I liked this one a lot, of course I am a sucker for books that showcase food. Toni is a fun character, she is tough and not willing to be put in a vulnerable position again. Emerson and Stone both have issues with trust where women are concerned, especially now that they have a women who is turning out to be a stalker, but they know that Toni is it for them now they just have to convince her.

A Billion To One (Power Surge: The Billionaire Club, #2)A Billion To One by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Chiara Costiano has tried everything she could possibly think of to prove she is capable of taking over is company, but despite her best effort it falls on deaf ears. He is constantly trying to force her to date a man she finds about as desirable as a slick eel and when it looks like her life is in danger, she finds out he is selling his company to two strangers.

Cash Corbin and Zane Heston are not sure the why the sudden rush to sell the company, they are intrigued by Chiara and the more they get to know her the quicker they realize they have found the woman they have been looking for. Although Chiara is fighting with understanding her fathers betrayal and falling for two men who have managed to sweep her off her feet.

I liked this one but it had a couple of conflicting plot issues that at the end did not make sense. Overall good, but Chiara initially comes off as sweet and a bit more demure and then is like a hellcat instantly. Did not flow as good as some of the other books by the author.

Review

4 Stars

Under the radar was Kagan Owens plan, she had lived her life in the spotlight thanks to her famous father and handled it, but after a blow out fight with her father she left.  Kagan has caught the eye of the towns biggest heartthrob tough and although he doesn’t do relationships, he can’t stop thinking about Kagan.

When the man who was part of the reason she was running away from, shows up to take her back to New York, Kagan needs a plan and quick.  Fortunately Shane happens on her door step and she latches on to a slight little fib, he is her boyfriend.  Shane is willing to play the part to help Kagan, but he quickly realizes he wants more and he doesn’t know what to do with the rumbling emotions he has while trying to figure out if Kagan feels the same way.

Wonderful read.  Kagan is gun shy about getting involved, falling for Shane, and unresolved feelings with why she left home.  I loved Shane, he is adorable and scared out of his wits with what he feels for Kagan.  Would definitely pick up more from this author, highly entertaining.
